France, UK approve SCALP, Storm Shadow strikes on Russia – Le Figaro

France and the UK have authorized Ukraine to use their SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles for strikes on Russian soil, following the US decision to approve long-range ATACMS missiles.

These missiles, developed by France and the UK, can target stationary sites like bunkers and are effective in poor weather conditions. They have a 450 kg warhead and can be used at any time of day.

The missiles will be mounted on Ukrainian Soviet-era jets, enhancing Ukraine’s ability to strike well-defended Russian positions.

The decision marks a shift in Ukraine’s tactics, with more US missiles in their arsenal, but now also access to French and British missiles.

Ukraine plans to use the newly authorized weapons in the coming days, targeting Russian and North Korean troops in regions like Kursk Oblast.
